About Camp for a Cure

Camp for a Cure is a two-day music festival dedicated to raising funds to help eradicate cancer in partnership with the Love Your Sister Foundation! This exciting event takes place at Goochie Creek Escape, just 45 kilometres north of Gympie, QLD, and only 1.3 kilometers off the Bruce Highway.

Set on a sprawling 600-acre working cattle farm, attendees will experience camping in a rustic yet charming environment. Please note that facilities are limited; there are restrooms and a dump point available, as well as mobile reception, but no power or water will be provided.

While you enjoy the live music, local food vendors will be on-site to satisfy your cravings. We also have a dedicated volunteer tent where water and snacks will be available for volunteers.

What you can expect from us

  • Early access to the Merchandise Tent, before patrons arrive on site

  • A camping spot in the volunteer camping area

  • A free CFAC crew shirt, and a goodie bag

  • 25% refund of your ticket price after full completion of volunteer duties (this does not include any extra camping you may choose to book at Gootchie Creek)

  • A Thank You breakfast on the Monday morning after the event

  • Volunteers are fully supported by our team of event organisers.

Being Prepared

Due to the limited facilities at Goochie Creek Escape, our volunteers need to be self-sufficient for the duration of your time in Goochie Creek. These are the things you will need to consider:

TICKETING

You will need to purchase a ticket to the event to attend and to volunteer. 25% of the ticket price will be refunded back to you on completion of all of your allocated shifts.

VOLUNTEERING WITH CHILDREN AND YOUTH

Volunteers are welcome to bring their children with them to the event, however for most positions, your children cannot accompany you during your volunteer shifts. You will need to make other arrangements for them while you are on shift.

VOLUNTEERING WITH DOGS

Dogs cannot accompany volunteers on their shifts. Dogs must be looked after by a responsible person(s) during those times. Volunteers bringing dogs to the event, please ensure you read and follow the Dog Attendance Rules.

ACCOMMODATION

You need to bring your own camper, van, tent, swag or similar. Once you arrive at the event, you will be directed to the volunteers camping area within the event grounds. Should you wish to arrive earlier than the ticketed dates, or stay after the event is completed, you will need to book with this Gootchie Creek Escape directly. You can do that here.

FOOD

You need to be self-sufficient for your own food, water and camping supplies. There are supermarkets in Gympie but you probably won’t want to be doing trips into town between your volunteer shifts and enjoying the festival. There will be food vendors available during event hours and we will have a volunteer zone stocked with water, tea, coffee and light refreshments.

Please visit our FAQ’s for more information.

PLEASE NOTE:

We strive to provide you with your preferred role and times; however, we cannot guarantee this. You will receive your shifts two weeks before the event, which will help you plan your travel arrangements and accommodations. Please remain flexible, as shifts may change at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances during the event.

If you are volunteering during the concert, we will do our best to schedule your shifts so that you can enjoy as much of the event as possible. Please note that some shifts may occur during concert hours, so choose your preferences carefully to ensure you can attend the performances you’re interested in. Generally, music events take place on Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 10 PM. We recommend submitting your application early to avoid disappointment!

We also suggest that applicants tentatively arrange time off from work at the beginning of the application process to ensure their availability.

IF YOU'RE ACCEPTED

Once you’ve applied, we’ll let you know whether your application has been successful and then begin to send you information about your role.
