Our Story

Camp for a Cure was born from a journey that began long before the first tent was pitched or the first song was played.

After Erin’s mum passed away from breast cancer, we — Alex and Erin — made the life-changing decision to sell everything, pack up our family, and set off on the Big Lap of Australia. We wanted to live every moment, spend precious time with our kids, and experience everything our incredible country has to offer while we could. Along the way, we started our YouTube channel, Now or Never, to share our travels and inspire others to embrace life’s adventures.

Just two months into our trip, Alex’s father also passed away from cancer. That loss strengthened our resolve — we wanted to do something that truly reflected who we are, what we love, and what we stand for. From that spark, Camp for a Cure was created: a unique event combining our greatest passions — eradicating cancer, travelling, mates, and music — all in one unforgettable weekend under the stars.

Our first Camp for a Cure brought together over 500 attendees and raised more than $27,000 for Love Your Sister, our chosen charity. The following year, in 2025, the event grew to welcome over 1,200 campers and raised an incredible $86,000 — all thanks to the generosity, heart, and shared purpose of our amazing community.

What started as a simple idea born from grief and hope has grown into something far bigger than us. Camp for a Cure is now a movement of like-minded people — families, travellers, musicians, and mates — all coming together to make a difference. And this is just the beginning. We’re committed to growing the event each year, creating more memories, and raising even more funds to help find a cure.

Because for us, it’s not just about camping. It’s about connection, community, and the belief that together, we can change lives.
