Camp for a Cure cannot run without its incredible volunteers. By joining the team, you’ll be a part of something bigger — helping create an unforgettable event while making a real difference in the fight against cancer.

Volunteer Positions

  • Check-in Crews will be stationed at the entrance to Goochie Creek, where you will scan pre-ordered tickets and distribute wristbands. It's important to be friendly and outgoing, and having customer service experience is preferred.

    Duties

    • Check peoples names off against list

    • Hand out wrist bands

    • Take registration details

    • Hand out vehicle passes based on number of days staying and mobility requirements

    • Hand out Lanyards to VIPS/Artists/Media

    • Direct artists/market stalls to next traffic Crew/ follow signs etc

    • Hand out welcome flyer

    • Hand out Pre-Ordered Merchandise

    IMPORTANT NOTES

    • You may need to be available from 7 am on Friday, 1st May

    • Some shifts take place during Friday evening

    • Some shifts take place during concert hours, and you may not be able to see or hear the event; however, this should be limited as most will arrive prior to the event start.

  • Event marshals are stationed both inside the concert venue and at the entrance, allowing them to enjoy incredible live Australian music. Their responsibilities include overseeing the gates leading into the concert area and guiding attendees to ensure that the walkways remain unobstructed. This position is ideal for individuals who are self-assured and assertive and who wish to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere.

    Duties

    • Working on either the concert walkways, patrolling on foot to keep them clear for emergency access, or

    • Working at one of the concert access gates marshalling patrons into the concert area, checking wristbands and conducting bag checks.

    IMPORTANT NOTES

    • Some shifts occur in the evening.  

    • Most shifts align with concert times, as this is typical for our team. However, you will have the opportunity to see and hear the music while you work.  

    • You should be prepared to stand for several hours at a time.

  • Merchandise Crews will be part of a busy, fun, and supportive team in the CFAC merchandise tent. The team will assist in selling official event merchandise as well as merchandise from artists, while ensuring that stock levels are adequate. Volunteers in this role should be confident, friendly, and physically capable, with the ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system. While retail experience is preferred, it is not required.

    Duties

    • Handle Merchandise sales

    • Monitor cash levels in the drawer and advise when it becomes too full so it can be cleared.

    • Retrieve stock in the correct sizes.

    • Sell raffle tickets.

    • Ensure raffle winners receive their prizes by writing their ticket numbers on a board, comparing them to the winning tickets, handing over the prizes, and taking a picture of the winners if they permit it.

    • You'll be on your feet and busy for the whole duration of your shift, so you'll need to be physically able to do this.

    • You must be able to lift some boxes up to 22kg with assistance

    • You must be confident to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system

  • BBQ Crews will be part of a busy, fun, and supportive team in the CFAC alongside the merchandise tent. The team will assist in selling BBQ food items. Volunteers in this role should be confident, friendly, and physically capable, with the ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system. While retail experience is preferred, it is not required.

    Duties

    • Handle BBQ sales

    • Handle BBQ orders for patrons

    • Manning the BBQ

  • Traffic Crews are essential for ensuring efficient and safe traffic movements in and out of Goochie Creek. Some shifts can be quite lively as you immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere of camper roll-in, while others may be pleasantly quiet at scenic marshal spots away from the main activity.

    Traffic Crews will work either solo or in small teams at various locations to direct traffic, check tickets, and engage with patrons and members of the public. It is important to be assertive, friendly, and confident, as well as able to stand for extended periods.


    Duties:

    • Direct vehicles based on passes to general camping, market stall setup, VIP areas, or artist areas (possibly directing to the next Crew managing these tasks).

    • Monitor for any incidents.

    • In shared zones, stop vehicles to allow pedestrians to cross safely.

    • Stop pedestrians while market stall vehicles, artist vehicles, garbage trucks, etc., are entering.

    • Guide people to available parking to maintain order or direct them to further camping areas as the campground fills up.

    Important Notes:

    • Availability from 7 AM on Friday, May 1st, is necessary.

    • Some shifts will occur during Friday evening.

    • Certain shifts will take place during concert hours, and you may not be able to see or hear the event; however, this should be limited, as most arrivals will occur before the event starts.

    • You must be able to stand for several hours at a time.

  • The Clean-up Crew consists of dedicated individuals who ensure that CFAC remains fresh and enjoyable for everyone. There are two main roles within this team, both of which are crucial: Rubbish Crew and Dunny Crew!

    Duties:

    • Rubbish Crew: Team members in this role are responsible for supervising the event area, ensuring that the event bins are accessible and properly managed, and maintaining a litter-free environment.

    • Dunny Crew: Team members in this role monitor the toilet blocks on-site and perform front-of-house cleaning as needed. This includes tasks such as wiping seats and surfaces, sweeping sawdust off the floor, and cleaning the toilet chute.

    Important Notes:

    • Most shifts will coincide with concert times, which is typical for our team. However, you will have the chance to enjoy the music while you work.

    • Some shifts may occur in the evening.

    • You must be physically capable of performing tasks that involve lifting, carrying, and bending.

    • If you are assigned to the Dunny Crew, you should feel comfortable with front-of-house toilet cleaning tasks, including wiping seats and surfaces, sweeping sawdust off the floor, and cleaning the toilet chute.

  • Setup and Pack down team not only help create CFAC but are also able to enjoy all of the concert! You will assist with the construction and layout of the CFAC event site before the event (including constructing fencing and general infrastructure), and assist with pack down after the event. You'll need to be able bodied and generally handy, but you don't need to have any particular trade skills for most tasks.

    Duties

    • Assist with the construction and layout of the CFAC event site, including erecting fencing and setting up general infrastructure.

    • Participate in the pack down process after the event, ensuring everything is dismantled and stored properly.

    • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficiency and effectiveness during setup and pack down.

    IMPORTANT NOTES

    • You must be physically fit, capable of lifting, carrying, and bending for several hours at a time.

    • Being handy and comfortable with practical tasks is essential.

    • Be prepared to work outdoors in varying conditions, including dust, heat, and wind. If you are not accustomed to such environments, you may find it challenging.

    • Bring your own work gloves to ensure safety and comfort while working. 

  • Overview
    Our Electricians play a vital role in bringing Camp for a Cure to life. As part of this crew, you will help with everything related to our generator and electrical distribution — from the initial setup and pack-down to troubleshooting and general maintenance throughout the event. Your work ensures that every light, sound, and system runs smoothly so our campers can enjoy an unforgettable weekend.

    You’ll be fully supported by our highly experienced Electrical Team Leader and work alongside a passionate group of volunteers all dedicated to making a difference.

    Requirements

    • You must be a qualified electrician or electrical contractor (proof of qualification required during application).

    • Bring your basic tools (e.g., screwdriver, pliers, cutters).

    • Be practical, able-bodied, and willing to lend a hand with a range of general setup and maintenance tasks beyond electrical work.

    • Some shifts will occur in the evenings.

    • Some shifts may take place during concert times, where viewing may not be possible.

    • You’ll need to participate in an out-of-hours on-call roster in addition to regular shifts.


  • Overview
    Our Photographers Team captures the heart and spirit of Camp for a Cure. From the energy of the concerts to the smiles around campfires and the quiet moments of connection, you’ll help tell the story of the weekend through your lens. Your images will be used across our social media, website, and future promotional material to showcase the incredible community that makes Camp for a Cure so special.

    You’ll work closely with our media coordinator and other team members to ensure key moments are captured throughout the event. This role is a great fit for someone who loves event photography, thrives in a lively environment, and enjoys blending creativity with purpose.

    Requirements

    • You must have previous photography experience and be able to provide a portfolio or examples of your work/style.

    • Bring your own camera and equipment suited to both daytime and evening conditions.

    • Be flexible, creative, and comfortable working independently around event activities.

    • Be willing to capture a mix of posed, candid, and event action shots as needed.

    • You’ll work with our media team to ensure coverage across different areas of the event.

    • Photos must be shared with the Camp for a Cure team after the event for use in official communications and marketing.

  • Overview
    Our Hairdressers Team brings colour, creativity, and compassion to Camp for a Cure. From styling fun mermaid braidsto helping with head shaves during our fundraising moments, this team helps create some of the most memorable and meaningful experiences of the weekend. You’ll be part of the action, connecting with campers and contributing directly to the heart of what Camp for a Cure is all about — community, courage, and care.

    You’ll work alongside other volunteers and be supported by our event coordinators to ensure all hair-related activities run smoothly, safely, and with plenty of smiles.

    Requirements

    • You must be a qualified hairdresser or have strong practical experience in hairstyling.

    • Be confident with both creative braiding (e.g., mermaid braids) and basic clipper work if head shaves go ahead.

    • Bring your own tools and equipment (e.g., scissors, combs, hair ties, clips, clippers if applicable).

    • Be friendly, professional, and patient, able to work with a wide range of people and styles.

    • All equipment must meet basic hygiene and safety standards.
